Wreaths Across America Comes to Butler County on December 13th: A Day of Honor, Gratitude, and Community

Each December, communities across the United States unite to honor our nation’s veterans through Wreaths Across America (WAA)—a tradition now more than 30 years strong. In 2024, volunteers placed over three million sponsored wreaths at 4,909 locations nationwide, supported by more than four million volunteers, including thousands of children learning the importance of remembrance.

This year, Butler County will once again take part in this powerful day of service.

Wreaths Across America Day

Saturday, December 13, 2025 12:00 PM.

Ceremonies begin at participating cemeteries across the county, followed by the placement of wreaths on veterans’ graves.

A National Movement With Local Heart

Across the country, Wreaths Across America continues to grow thanks to 7,400+ sponsorship groups, corporate support, and in-kind contributions from the transportation industry. Each December, the annual convoy from Harrington, Maine to Arlington National Cemetery—known as “the world’s largest veterans’ parade”—stops at schools, memorials, and community centers to share its mission:

Remember the fallen. Honor those who serve. Teach the next generation.

Here in Butler County, that mission is alive and well. On December 13th, children will stand beside veterans, families will pause to reflect, and our community will unite in gratitude as we place wreaths and speak the names of those who served.

Why This Day Matters

Every wreath placed is more than a decoration—it is a promise.

A promise that no veteran will ever be forgotten.A promise that future generations will understand the cost of freedom.A promise that our community will continue to honor the men and women who gave so much.

As WAA reminds us:“A person dies twice—once when they take their last breath, and again when their name is spoken for the last time.”

By participating on December 13th, we ensure that our veterans’ names continue to be spoken, their stories remembered, and their sacrifices honored.
